Tonight's Crack-Pot Theory

If Computer Artificial Intelligence is to continue...

and become perfect there's two scenarios I see coming. First is a SkyNet-ish one where the AI turns on its creators and kills us all.

The other is much more terrible. And people will be giggling all the way to extinction. AI that not only takes over every job, responsibility, and worry the human can come up with. Perfect robotic companions will serve your every whim perfectly and many will fall in love with them so much that imperfect human mates are an aversion to them. Soon no children are made anymore.

Which is the grimmer future? A breathe a sigh of relief when ASIMO can't walk up a flight of stairs... for now.

Inflation

I remember ramen being 10 cents a pack back in 1995. Accounting for inflation they should now cost about 14 cents. But this is not the case. The cheapest they ever are now is 17 cents.
